Explore the I/O Frog features to manage your devices with an ease to use.
BASIC principles
The top menu helps you navigate to:
- Device dashboards
- Shopping cart
- Display the current group under which you can access group management features
- User profile to update profile, change language, access documentation, or contact support
The user interface changes based on:
- The selected group of devices
- Your access rights to such a group
- Your experience level (Basic or Expert) in the user profile
After you sign-in, you see devices from the first group you have an access to. On an example here, you can see your own group in the list of groups (first group on the list) but also all groups you were invited into (with specific permissions).
After you switch to one of such groups, the user interface adjusts to the permissions you have into the selected group. In this case, the permissions are mostly read-only, so no possibility to register a new device for example.
The user permissions may result in no possibility to update device settings
or no possibility to delete messages.
DASHBOARDS
We have developed several dashboards for you based on the use case preference.
DEVICE CARD VIEW
Cards dashboard is your starting point and contains devices from the selected group by default. You can easily filter cards by device ID (perfect match required), name (partial match), tags, device manufacturer, device types, or you can search through all groups you have an access to.
Device manufacturers often develops their own proprietary platforms. I/O Frog offers having all different devices in one system. We design specific dashboard for each type of device to support special device features. Data on this dashboard are updated in real-time.

TRACING DASHBOARD
Tracing dashboard offers scalable map to track your devices in time and even more!

- Display devices based on its current status (“Active, Recent, Incative”)
- Use filter based on your pre-setup criteria (“Name, Geofence location or Favourite”)
- View up to past 24 hours of device history or simply choose any date you like
- Map scale with points of interest

Device features
Device features are accessible from Cards dashboard and Table view dashboard via “3-dot” icon.
Device-based operations and functions:
- Setup – from renaming your devices to upload new settings, or sharing with your peers
- History – messages sent by the device in a simple log format, charts, tracing, or full data export to CSV
- Connectivity – manage our Sigfox connectivity or platform access
- Delete device – remove the device from IO Frog platform
- Documentation – documentation resources (if available)

Settings
use multiple setup options based on your needs:
- manage General information of the device
- use a Downlink while having the device that supports it
Data details
Every device type is special and thus may have a specific view on history data. View different table overviews, logs, charts, graphs, maps designed for specific use cases, and export data to CSV.
Connectivity
check contractual details about your connection:
- expiration date and possibility to extend connection
- subscription history

Organisation of devices, users, and group setup
All devices are organised into groups. One device may belong to one group only. The purpose of groups is to:
- Organize all devices in a tree-like structure primarily based on the ownership.
- Define all features once on the group level and apply them to all devices in the group.
- Manage users that have a specific access to selected group granted by the owner or manager of the group.
Groups are accessible right from the top menu where you see the name of the current group. There are 3 sub-menu items under the current group name:
- Billing – check the orders, update billing data, increase SMS credits
- Settings – user management and management of all group features including Tags, Geoplaces, Notification rules, Forwardings, Public Channels
- Change the group – change the current group. Here you will see your own group (if you have one) and all groups you have an access to, e.g. groups you were invited to.

List through the groups you own as well as groups you got invited to.
Group management
In Group management you can see your own group in the list of groups (first group on the list) as well as all groups you were invited into (with specific permissions).
- Create sub-groups if you need a new group with new set of users, tags, geoplaces, notification rules, public channels, and forwardings
- Grant/remove access to other users
- Manage each user permissions
- Predefined user-level template (Owner, Device manager, Guest, Custom)
- Restrict the access to the specific device
- Move devices across the groups you have an access to
There are 2 types of groups
- Contract group – the main group that besides devices may also contain: billing data, orders/invoices, credit, and shopping cart. Every contract group must have at least one owner (= user with full ownership rights). You cannot delete the group if there are orders or SMS credit left.
- Standard group – you can create any number of groups and sub-groups under contract group for better organization of devices.
Tags
Tags are here to help you organize a large number of devices inside one group.
- Select the group where you want to create new Tags
- Name the tag, choose the color
- Assign devices and hit the button add/update
Geolocations
Select and name the areas on the map that will be used in processing of the incoming messages and in the notification rules. You can be notified when your device arrives in it or leaves specific geoplace.
How-to work with geoplaces:
- Create a new geoplace in group Settings > Geoplaces
- Filter devices by geoplaces on Tracing dashboard
- Check location of specific device in Message history
- Add Arrival / Departure conditions in Notifications rules
Public channels
Share your devices with other people without a need of having an account in IO Frog. Simply copy the specific URL and share it!
- Define a public channel under specific group in Settings > Public channels
- Describe the channel and assign as many devices you like
- Share your devices via Public channel URL
Notification rules
Notification rules enable you to define rules that will be applied to all or selected devices of specific type inside the group. Notification rules enable to set:
- Multiple recipients
- E-mail, SMS, Push notifications
- Custom template using pre-defined variables
- Specify time range and day of the week
- Multiple conditions with AND/OR boolean logic
Data forwarding
Push messages to own backend systems, BI solutions or other servers via REST API.
- Define forwarding to your own server
- JSON content type, POST method
- Custom headers enables to add authorisation tokens
- Support for basic customisation
- Check status of the last forwarding – status code and result
Billing
This option is only available to the owners of group:
- Orders – History of purchased items
- Billing data – billing details
- Credits – SMS notifications
Credits
Currently used to cover the cost related to sending SMS notifications via international SMS gateway. SMS is the best solution if:
- The recipients do not have a smart phone (unlikely ☺)
- The recipients do not have data in case you really need them
- The recipients are at place without data coverage
Newly registered users receive 20 credits (linked to CONTRACT group). If you are low in credits, you can easily top up. You can get an SMS in your language based on your user settings or using the custom template.
