Explore the I/O Frog Analytics, filter different historical data, and use them in sophisticated statistics.

The basics of Analytics

The Analytics dashboard was created in a way to bring our customers a utilized tool to display, conditional format, and highlight different historical data recorded by a single device or multiple devices in the desired time range period. The wide range of format possibilities will offer you a unique statistic overview easily manageable in the I/O Frog platform.

Search criteria

Report

The report is based on the selected Category and represents the actual meaning of reported data.

For Messages – you can choose between:

Raw data
Time intervals between events
Changes in measured values

For Network – only one option available:

Coverage check

Devices selection

You can restrict the selection to one certain device from your list of devices or select all devices in your group.

Date range

Select from the calendar the date range of historical device data. Keep in mind that the maximum display date range is 30 days.

Introduction

Search/modify data

Step 1
Go to the Analytics dashboard and enter the search criteria. In this example, we select Category – Network, Report – Coverage check, Thick All devices in your group, and Date range of 14 days.
Step 2
Now, you got a selection of searched data. At first, all selected data are displayed at the Date Range as total, to get a more detailed description as per Days, expand the “Year and Month”.

You can further modify the data selection in the table via the “Field list” button. The Field list is segregated into 4 categories: Filters, Columns, Rows, and Value. Use the “Drag and Drop” method to move items around.

To demonstrate how “Rows” and “Columns” work, let’s drag Days from Columns to Rows.
Step 5
Now, days are displayed in Rows and each device needs to be extended separately to see details “day by day”. The segregation of items in the Field list is up to you, feel free to change the default positioning as you prefer.

Each item can be also further modified via “Filter”. As per example: you can select different options based on your preferences or use case.

Number formating

Step 1
With the Number formatting option, you can further modify the type of numerical values and more.
Hit the icon to display the Number formatting menu.

For each Value, you can select different Format types, Grouping, Decimals places or even create a Custom format.

In this example, we chose Values as Received Messages and Format type as Percentage and hit Apply.

Values in column Received messages are displayed in percentage.

Conditional formatting

Step 1
Take advantage of Conditional formatting and highlight the most important data recorded by your devices.
Step 2
For our searched data (Network – Coverage check) the default conditional formatting is already setup. This setup can be either changed, deleted, or extended with more conditions (+ Add Condition).

To create a new condition, hit + Add Condition. Choose a value, in our case Lost messages .
Step 4
Then select the condition from the menu, as per example Greater than.
Step 5
The next step is color, choose from a wide range of color selection, and Apply.
Step 6
The condition was applied and conditionally formated data highlighted.

Show Grand/Sub totals

Step 1
Sub/Grand totals become especially useful when searched data are displayed in days. In such a case, you can add Sub or Grand totals to summarize different values of the device from the selected date range.
Step 2
As per example, we changed from Do not Show grand totals to Show grand totals on the menu. The Grand totals were added to the end of the line for all Values of each device.

Export data

Step 1
With Analytics you can export all searched data to different data format files. Choose from PDF, Excel, or CSV. Graphs can be also exported to PDF, PNG, JPEG and SVG.

Graph view

Step 1
Analytics offers possibilities to swap from Table view to Graph view. Hit the Graph view icon and select a graph from a variety of graphs on the menu.
Step 2
In certain graph views, you can also thick Multiple axes to display different values in one graph.
Step 3
To display all possible graph views to choose from, select “More…” in the menu and scroll down. In this example, we selected the graph “Pie”.
